The Colts drafted Pierre Garcon with its 3rd pick in the 6th round.
Coming from Mount Union, it's hard to imagine a scenario where Garcon fits in with this team as a 3rd or 4th wide receiver straight away. The level of competition at Mount Union has not prepared him to make that jump.
What really jumps out about Garcon, however, are his other credentials. He posted a 4.48 40-yard time and was part of a Division III National Championship relay team.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking? I'm thinking kick and punt returns.
If there's been one area of the Colts' game that has lacked in the last few years, it's the lack of a sure-thing home run hitter on kick and punt returns. If Garcon runs fast enough to star in track, and has football instincts, the Colts might have solved its kick and punt return problem.
Of course, Garcon has to make it out of training camp. We'll see what happens there.
